Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard has stated clearly that there is no need for him to move to Spanish giants Real Madrid before he can win the prestigious Ballon d'or award.

Although Hazard is aware that no-one outside of La Liga has won Europe’s top player award in the last decade, the Belgian hopes to stay in England.

Hazard has been impressive for Chelsea this season, and he has been heavily linked with a mega million move to Spain.

“I hope to win the Ballon d’Or one day. It’s in my mind. If I don’t, it won’t be a problem. I try to make a good career and the best I can, but I think some other players deserve to win it also.

"When Ronaldo and Messi retire, maybe it will be another couple of players like Neymar, Paulo Dybala or Antoine Griezmann, who knows? "We will see. It's not something I think too much about.

"Could I win it? If I play next season, we win the Champions League and I win the World Cup with Belgium, why not?

"In the last ten years, the Ballon d'Or winners play in Spain, but it's not automatic,'' he explained.

Meanwhile, the 26-year-old will be part of Chelsea's title winning squad that will face Watford on tonight, May 15, 2017.
